Progress Report and Partnership Proposal Between EBTDI Ventures and KCCA (Environmental Management Unit)
---
Dear Sir/Madam,
Warm greetings from EBTDI Ventures, the registered environmental and social innovation company implementing the Every Birthday Tree Day Initiative (EBTDI) — a growing community movement encouraging people to plant trees equivalent to their age every birthday as a personal contribution toward environmental restoration and climate resilience.
---
1. Where We Have Reached
Since inception, EBTDI Ventures has made notable progress in advancing urban greening and community awareness. We have:
1.Officially registered EBTDI Ventures under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB).
2.Implemented community tree-planting activities across Wakiso, Kampala, and surrounding areas through the Every Birthday Tree Day Initiative.
3.Mobilized youth, schools, and faith-based institutions to participate in annual birthday tree-planting campaigns.
4.Attracted voluntary support from partners in Africa willing to donate seedlings and materials.
5.Developed educational materials and public sensitization programs on environmental conservation.
Through these efforts, we are building a culture of environmental responsibility that aligns closely with KCCA’s strategic goal of keeping Kampala green, clean, and sustainable.
---
2. What We Request from KCCA
EBTDI Ventures kindly seeks the following from KCCA’s Environmental Management Unit:
●Technical guidance and recognition as a community environmental partner working within the city’s greening framework.
●Joint collaboration in tree-planting exercises across city divisions, particularly in schools, road reserves, and open spaces.
●Endorsement or partnership letter to enable EBTDI Ventures to access complementary support from local and international donors.
●Coordination support in selecting appropriate tree species and identifying sustainable maintenance plans.
●Involvement in awareness and cleanup activities under the “Keep Kampala Clean” and other public campaigns.
---
3. The Way Forward
EBTDI Ventures proposes a collaborative pathway that includes:
》》Launching a joint pilot greening project within selected Kampala divisions to showcase the Birthday Tree planting model.
》》Regular reporting and monitoring of survival rates for trees planted under KCCA’s technical guidance.
》》Organizing environmental education and youth innovation programs in partnership with city schools.
》》Working towards a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the partnership framework.
We are confident that this collaboration will not only support Kampala’s environmental targets but also inspire citizens to adopt greener lifestyles in celebration of life and sustainability.

Conclusion
We greatly appreciate the opportunity previously granted to us to engage with your team. As advised, this document presents our current progress, our requests, and the way forward. We look forward to your continued guidance and partnership in transforming Kampala into a greener and more climate-resilient city.
With utmost respect and commitment,
Warm regards,
